As The Band and I near our last Elbo Room residency show of 2017, I’m reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. From the beautiful fans, friends and family who have rocked with us at our shows, to saying goodbye to our former bassist Jimmy and hello to our new bassist Egan, to performing new original music and covers inspired by some of our favorite artists – we have absolutely LOVED our monthly appearances at the Elbo Room! We hope to continue to perform at one of our true favorite venues of Chicago in 2018 and can’t wait for what’s in store!
As I reflected on the memories and lessons learned throughout our residency, I came across an article written by Brian Shamie of the Daily Herald that congratulated us on our then newfound residency. I met Brian when we performed at the Homegrown Arts and Music Festival in Lisle. Brian is one of the biggest fans and supporters of local music I’ve met, and I’m grateful to have met him. You can check out Brian’s article that includes his view of our “engaging blues-tinged pop” here!
